Security Bulletin

This security bulletin contains information about 3 vulnerabilities.

1) Buffer overflow

EUVDB-ID: #VU42519

Risk: Low

CVSSv4.0: 1.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]

CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4239

CWE-ID: CWE-119 - Memory corruption

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote #AU# to perform service disruption.

The xenDaemonListDefinedDomains function in xen/xend_internal.c in libvirt 1.1.1 allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and crash) via vectors involving the virConnectListDefinedDomains API function.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions

libvirt: 1.1.1

Q & A

Can this vulnerability be exploited remotely?

Yes. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote authenticated privileged user via the Internet.

Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?

No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.

2) Resource management error

EUVDB-ID: #VU42520

Risk: Low

CVSSv4.0: 1.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]

CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4292

CWE-ID: CWE-399 - Resource Management Errors

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform service disruption.

libvirt 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a large number of domain migrate parameters in certain RPC calls in (1) daemon/remote.c and (2) remote/remote_driver.c.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions

libvirt: 1.1.0 - 1.1.1

3) Buffer overflow

EUVDB-ID: #VU42521

Risk: Low

CVSSv4.0: 1.2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]

CVE-ID: CVE-2013-4297

CWE-ID: CWE-119 - Memory corruption

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote #AU# to perform service disruption.

The virFileNBDDeviceAssociate function in util/virfile.c in libvirt 1.1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (uninitialized pointer dereference and crash) via unspecified vectors.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions

libvirt: 0.0.1 - 1.1.1
