This security bulletin contains information about 4 vulnerabilities.

1) Cross-site scripting

EUVDB-ID: #VU41578

Risk: Low

CVSSv3.1: 3.8 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2014-3943

CWE-ID: CWE-79 - Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when processing data passed via unknown parameters. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions

TYPO3: 4.5.0 - 6.2.2

2) Improper Authentication

EUVDB-ID: #VU41579

Risk: Medium

CVSSv3.1: 5.7 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2014-3944

CWE-ID: CWE-287 - Improper Authentication

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to read and manipulate data.

The Authentication component in TYPO3 6.2.0 before 6.2.3 does not properly invalidate timed out user sessions, which allows remote attackers to bypass authentication via unspecified vectors.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.

Vulnerable software versions

EUVDB-ID: #VU41581

Risk: Low

CVSSv3.1: 1.3 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]

CVE-ID: CVE-2014-3946

CWE-ID: CWE-200 - Information exposure

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote #AU# to gain access to sensitive information.

The query caching functionality in the Extbase Framework component in TYPO3 6.2.0 before 6.2.3 does not properly validate group permissions, which allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary queries via unspecified vectors.

Mitigation

Install update from vendor's website.
