EUVDB-ID: #VU1112
Risk: High
CVSSv4.0: 7.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Amber]
CVE-ID: CVE-2016-8808
CWE-ID:
CWE-20 - Improper input validation
Exploit availability: Yes
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a local user to cause DoS condition or gain elevated privileges on the target system.
The weakness exists due to insufficient input validation in the kernel mode layer (nvlddmkm.sys) handler for DxgDdiEscape ID 0x70000d5. By sending a specially crafted index to an internal array, a local attacker can trigger denial of service or increase privileges.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in denial of service or privilege escalation.
