EUVDB-ID: #VU12325

Risk: Medium

CVSSv4.0: 6.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green]

CVE-ID: CVE-2017-2591

CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read

Exploit availability: No

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists in the uniqueness_entry_to_config() function due to improper NULL termination of an array in certain configurations of the uiduniq.c source code file. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request, trigger out-of-bounds heap memory read in the uiduniq.c source code file and cause the service to crash..

Mitigation

Update to version 1.3.6 or later.
