Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper Privilege Management (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7489)
The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to read and manipulate data.
In Moodle 2.x and 3.x, remote authenticated users can take ownership of arbitrary blogs by editing an external blog link.
2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7490)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
In Moodle 2.x and 3.x, searching of arbitrary blogs is possible because a capability check is missing.
3) Cross-site request forgery (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7491)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the HTTP request origin. A remote attacker can trick the victim to visit a specially crafted web page and perform arbitrary actions on behalf of the victim on the vulnerable website.
4) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7298)
The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to read and manipulate data.
In Moodle 3.2.2+, there is XSS in the Course summary filter of the "Add a new course" page, as demonstrated by a crafted attribute of an SVG element.
