EUVDB-ID: #VU3803
Risk: High
CVSSv4.0: 6.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Amber]
CVE-ID: CVE-2016-3945
CWE-ID:
CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The weakness exists in the (1) cvt_by_strip and (2) cvt_by_tile functions in the tiff2rgba tool due to integer overflow when -b mode is enabled. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted TIFF image, trigger out-of-bounds write and cause the service to crash or execute arbitrary code.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.

CVE-ID: CVE-2017-5225
CWE-ID:
CWE-122 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error in "tools/tiffcp.cwhen" processing images. A remote attacker can create an image with specially crafted BitsPerSample value, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system with privileges of the current user.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
