Description

This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Null pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11498)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can send language pack (ZIP file) with invalid HTML files, trigger NULL pointer dereference and cause the service to crash.

2) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11497)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists due to stack-based buffer overflow. A remote attacker can send language packs containing malformed filenames, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.

3) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-11496)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The weakness exists due to stack-based buffer overflow. A remote attacker can send malformed ASN1 streams in V2C and similar input files, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.

4) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12818)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists due to stack-based buffer overflow when handling malicious input. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted XML payload with more than supported number of elements, trigger memory corruption and cause the service to crash.

5) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12821)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists due to stack-based buffer overflow when handling malicious input. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted XML payload with more than supported number of elements, trigger memory corruption and cause the service to crash.

6) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12820)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists due to heap-based buffer overflow when handling malicious input. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted HTTP request body in Admin APIs, trigger memory corruption and cause the service to crash.

7) Security restrictions bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12822)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions on the target system.

The weakness exists due to improper access controls. A remote attacker can enable license manager web interface as a default configuration and bypass security restrictions to perform further attacks.
