Security Bulletin
This security bulletin contains one low risk vulnerability.
EUVDB-ID: #VU12895
Risk: Low
CVSSv4.0: 8.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear]
CVE-ID: CVE-2018-10992
CWE-ID:
CWE-88 - Argument Injection or Modification
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the target system.
The weakness exists in lilypond-invoke-editor due to improper validation of strings before launching the program specified by the BROWSER environment variable. A remote attacker can conduct argument-injection attacks via a specially crafted URL, as demonstrated by a --proxy-pac-file argument, because the GNU Guile code uses the system Scheme procedure instead of the system* Scheme procedure.
Update the affected packages.
