Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Privilege escalation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-5547)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to F5 BIG-IP APM Client for Windows uses Legacy logon mode with a System account and displays a certificate user interface dialog box containing a link to the certificate policy. A local attacker can exploit the dialog box to gain administrator level privileges.


2) Privilege escalation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-5546)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to gain elevated privileges on the target system.

The vulnerability exists in F5 BIG-IP APM Client for Linux and macOS due to a flaw in the svpn and policyserver components. A local attacker can gain knowledge of sensitive information, manipulate certain data, or assume super-user privileges.
