Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to an error in certain scenarios involving IFRAME elements and "nativeWindowOpen: true" or "sandbox: true" options. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger WebPreferences vulnerability and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Mitigation

The vulnerability has been fixed in the versions 3.0.0-beta.7, 2.0.8, 1.8.8, and 1.7.16.
