Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8432)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when Microsoft Graphics Components handle objects in memory. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8427)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error when Microsoft Graphics Components handle objects in memory. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger memory corruption and gain access to potentially sensitive information.
