Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8578)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper disclosure of folder structure when rendering specific web pages. A remote attacker can view the folder path of scripts loaded on the page.

2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8568)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

3) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8572)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

4) Memory corruption (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-8539)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing Microsoft Office files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted .doc file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
