This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-17146)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. The vulnerability allows an attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code within the auto login admin management page.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


2) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-17148)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.

An Insufficient Access Control vulnerability (leading to credential disclosure) in coreconfigsnapshot.php (aka configuration snapshot page) in Nagios XI before 5.5.4 allows remote attackers to gain access to configuration files containing confidential credentials.
