Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-7218)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to unbounded resource usage via HTTP and RPC services. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and crash the target server.


2) Improper Certificate Validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-7956)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a man-in-the-middle (MiTM) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected software incorrectly validate role/region associated with TLS certificates used for mTLS RPC. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted TLS certificate, perform a man-in-the-middle attack and escalate privileges on the target system.
