This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1702)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to application reads the entire image manifest file into memory. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack by supplying a huge manifest file.


2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-10696)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote attacker can trick a victim to build a malicious container image hosted on an HTTP(s) server and then write files to the user's system anywhere that the user has permissions.
