Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-11356)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in a crafted HTTP PUT operation for an event with a long iCalendar property name. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-19783)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to escalate privileges within the application.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in autosieve_createfolder() function in imap/lmtp_sieve.c. A remote email user can create any mailbox with administrative privileges.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability requires that the sieve script uploading is allowed (3.x) or certain non-default sieve options are enabled (2.x).
