Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-15890)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists in "ip_reass()" routine in "ip_input.c" file while reassembling incoming packets, if the first fragment is bigger than the m->m_dat[] buffer. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted packet and cause the application to crash.

2) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-20485)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources with the qemu/qemu_driver.c in libvirt while holding of a monitor job during a query to a guest agent, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service (API blockage).

3) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1983)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error when processing packets within the ip_reass() function in ip_input.c in libslirp. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted packet to the application, trigger a use-after-free error and crash it.

4) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-10703)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources with the application when performing pool lookups within the storagePoolLookupByTargetPath() function in storage/storage_driver.c. A remote user can create a pool with empty target path and then perform  search for an empty target, which results in libvirt crash.

5) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-14301)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due implementation of cookies for HTTP-based disks formatted them in the XML even if the VIR_DOMAIN_XML_SECURE was not present. A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information.

6) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-14339)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to libvirt leaks a file descriptor for /dev/mapper/control. A remote user on guest operating system can obtain leaked descriptor address and escalate privileges on the system.
