Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27989)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in Dashboard Tools (Edit Dashboard). A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
2) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-28648)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the Auto-Discovery component. A remote user can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27991)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in Account Information (Email field). A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
4) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27990)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in the Deployment tool (add agent). A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
5) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-27988)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data Manage Users (Username field). A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
6) Improper Preservation of Permissions (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-5796)
A local user can escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper preservation of permissions in Nagios XI. A local user can weaken the permissions of files, resulting in low-privileged users being able to write to and execute arbitrary PHP code with root privileges.
