Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-16233)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary within the 0x82730078 IOCTL in Viragtlt.sys and Viraglt64.sys system drivers. A local user can run a specially crafted program on the system, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges.


2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-16234)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within the Viragtlt.sys and Viraglt64.sys system drivers. A local user can request the 0x82730048 IOTCL and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


3) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-16235)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary within the 0x82730098 IOCTL in Viragtlt.sys and Viraglt64.sys system drivers. A local user can run a specially crafted program on the system, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges.

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary within the 0x82730080 IOCTL in Viragtlt.sys and Viraglt64.sys system drivers. A local user can run a specially crafted program on the system, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the system with elevated privileges.
