Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21280)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition when processing 6LoWPAN extension headers. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.

2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21257)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input in RPL-Classic and RPL-Lite implementations. A remote attacker can trigger out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

3) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21279)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop in IPv6 neighbor solicitation processing. A remote attacker can consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.

4) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21281)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of TCP data offset. A remote attacker can trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
