Description
This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-6004)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the compile_bracket_matchingpath() function in pcre_jit_compile.c. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted regular expression to the application, trigger an out-of-bounds read and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7186)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system. The weakness exists due to a segmentation violation issue by the libpcre1 and libpcre2. A remote attacker can send specially crafted packets and cause the application to crash.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in denial of service.
3) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7244)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system. The weakness exists due to invalid memory read flaw in the _pcre32_xclass function in pcre_xclass.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim into loading a specially crafted file and cause the application to crash.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability results in denial of service.
4) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7245)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error in pcre32_copy_substring() function in pcre_get.c in libpcre1 in PCRE 8.40. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-7246)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to boundary error in pcre32_copy_substring() function in pcre_get.c in libpcre1 in PCRE 8.40. A remote unauthenticated attacker can create a specially crafted file, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
6) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-20838)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
libpcre in PCRE before 8.43 allows a subject buffer over-read in JIT when UTF is disabled, and X or R has more than one fixed quantifier, a related issue to CVE-2019-20454.
7) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-14155)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow. A remote attacker can pass a large number after a (?C substring, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
