Description

This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-44709)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-44740)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

3) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-44741)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-44708)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

5) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-1285)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Simphony Server (Apache log4net) component in Oracle Hospitality Simphony. A remote non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code.

6) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-40420)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error when processing PDF files. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file, trigger a use-after-free error and execute arbitrary code on the system.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

7) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-22150)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing PDF files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted PDF document, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
