CVE-ID: CVE-2021-38294
CWE-ID:
CWE-78 - Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection')
Exploit availability: Yes
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the getTopologyHistory service. A remote unauthenticated attacker can send a specially crafted thrift request to the Nimbus server and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
MitigationInstall update from vendor's website.
Vulnerable software versionsIBM Tivoli Network Manager (ITNM): 4.2.0.0 - 4.2.0.13

CWE-ID:
CWE-502 - Deserialization of Untrusted Data
Exploit availability: Yes
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data in the worker services. A remote non-authenticated attacker can send specially crafted request to the server and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
