Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37042)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.
The vulnerability exists due to an error in MailboxImportServlet. A remote attacker can bypass authentication process and gain unauthorized access to the application.
2) Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37041)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote user to perform SSRF attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in Proxy Servlet. A remote user can send a specially crafted HTTP request and trick the application to initiate requests to arbitrary systems.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker gain access to sensitive data, located in the local network or send malicious requests to other servers from the vulnerable system.
3) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-2068)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the c_rehash script distributed by some operating systems. A remote attacker with ability to pass data to c_rehash script can and execute arbitrary OS commands with the privileges of the script.
The vulnerability exists due to incomplete fix for #VU62765 (CVE-2022-1292).
4) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-24407)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of password in the SQL plugin shipped with Cyrus SASL. A remote non-authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.
5) Cross-site request forgery (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37043)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the HTTP request origin when using preauth. A remote attacker can trick the victim to visit a specially crafted web page and perform arbitrary actions on behalf of the victim on the vulnerable website.
6) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37044)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in "/h/search" passed via the "title", "onload", and "extra" HTTP parameters. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
