Description
This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper Validation of Array Index (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3121)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass implemented security restrictions.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of index array in plugin/unmarshal/unmarshal.go. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and bypass implemented security restrictions, possibly leading to remote code execution.
2) Unprotected storage of credentials (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-11250)
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to other users' credentials.
The vulnerability exists due Kubernetes client-go library logs request headers at verbosity levels of 7 or higher. This can disclose credentials to unauthorized users via logs or command output. Kubernetes components (such as kube-apiserver) prior to v1.16.0, which make use of basic or bearer token authentication, and run at high verbosity levels, are affected. A local user can view contents of the configuration file and gain access to passwords for 3rd party integration.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-21698)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within method label cardinality. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
4) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-1154)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the utf_ptr2char() function in regexp_bt.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger a use-after-free error and execute arbitrary code on the system.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
5) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-25032)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when compressing data. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application, trigger memory corruption and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
