Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-35605)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Graphics Protocol feature in graphics.c in kitty when processing a filename containing special characters. A remote unauthenticated attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41322)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the desktop notifications. A remote attacker can trick the victim to display attacker-controlled content in the terminal, then click on a notification popup and execute arbitrary code on the system.
