Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21539)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition. A remote unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to gain elevated privileges when a user with higher privileges is simultaneously accessing iDRAC through the web interface.

2) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21540)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when #CONDITION1#. A remote user can exploit this vulnerability to overwrite configuration information by injecting arbitrarily large payload.

3) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21541)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

4) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21542)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote user to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote with high privileges can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

5) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21543)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote user to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote user with high privileges can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

6) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-21544)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to bypass authentication process.

The vulnerability exists due to an error in when processing authentication requests. A remote user with high privileges can exploit this vulnerability to manipulate the username field under the comment section and set the value to any user.
