Description

This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-22971)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within the Spring application with a STOMP over WebSocket endpoint. A remote user can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


2) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38752)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when handling YAML files. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted YAML file to the application, trigger a stack-based buffer overflow and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


3) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-25647)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data passed to writeReplace() method. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service attack.


4) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-3171)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input containing multiple instances of non-repeated embedded messages with repeated or unknown fields. A remote attacker can cause objects to be converted back-n-forth between mutable and immutable forms, resulting in potentially long garbage collection pauses.


5) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42003)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data when the UNWRAP_SINGLE_VALUE_ARRAYS feature is enabled. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.


6) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-39271)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Cloud Native (Traefik) component in Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management. A remote non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


7) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-41411)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input in KieModuleMarshaller.java. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted XML code to the affected application and view contents of arbitrary files on the system or initiate requests to external systems.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to view contents of arbitrary file on the server or perform network scanning of internal and external infrastructure.


8) Improper Authorization (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-31692)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authorization checks.

The vulnerability exists due to authorization rules bypass via forward or include dispatcher types. A remote attacker can bypass authorization process.
