Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-23399)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in Microsoft Excel. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
2) Spoofing attack (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-23398)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform spoofing attack.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect processing of user-supplied data in Microsoft Excel. A remote attacker can spoof page content.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-23396)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in Microsoft Excel. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted XLSX file and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
