Description
This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-25589)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.
The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions in the web-based management interface. A remote attacker can create arbitrary users on the platform and achieve total cluster compromise.
2) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-25590)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in the ClearPass OnGuard Linux agent, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.
3) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-25591)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application in the web-based management interface. A remote user can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
4) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-25592)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in the web-based management interface. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
5) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-25593)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in the web-based management interface. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
6) Improper Authorization (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-25594)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authorization checks.
The vulnerability exists due to improper authorization in the web-based management interface. A remote user can bypass authorization and complete state-changing actions.
7) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-25595)
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application in the ClearPass OnGuard Ubuntu agent. A local user can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
8) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-25596)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application. A remote administrator can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
