Description
This security bulletin contains information about 33 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-32190)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences within JoinPath and URL.JoinPath. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system.
2) Improper Privilege Management (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-4415)
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to improper privilege management when handling coredumps in coredump/coredump.c. A local user can gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability affects systems with libacl support.
3) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-23521)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when parsing the .gitattributes attributes. A remote attacker can trick the victim into cloning a specially crafted repository and execute arbitrary code on the system.
4) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-27664)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to an HTTP/2 connection can hang during closing if shutdown were preempted by a fatal error. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
5) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-30631)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources in Reader.Read method when handling an archive that contains a large number of concatenated 0-length compressed files. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
6) Security features bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-32148)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass certain security restrictions.
The vulnerability exists due to unexpected behavior of httputil.ReverseProxy.ServeHTTP. When the method is called with a Request.Header map containing a nil value for the X-Forwarded-For header, ReverseProxy would set the client IP as the value of the X-Forwarded-For header, contrary to its documentation.
7) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-32189)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in
Float.GobDecode. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
8) Incorrect Regular Expression (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-40897)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation when processing HTML content. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform regular expression denial of service (ReDos) attack.
9) Protection Mechanism Failure (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-3259)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform MitM attack.
The vulnerability exists due to missing HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) header. A remote attacker can perform MitM attack.
10) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41715)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources in regexp/syntax when handling regular expressions. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
11) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41903)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error during git archive invocation. A remote attacker can trick the victim into using the application against a specially crafted archive, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
12) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-45061)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to usage of an unnecessary quadratic algorithm in one path when processing some inputs to the IDNA (RFC 3490) decoder. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted name to he decoder, trigger resource excessive CPU consumption and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
13) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-47629)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow in the CRL signature parser. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
14) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-48303)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the from_header() function in list.c when handling V7 archives. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted V7 archive, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
15) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-23916)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect implementation of the "chained" HTTP compression algorithms, where the number of links in the decompression chain was limited for each header instead of the entire request. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted compressed HTTP request with numerous headers and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
16) Configuration (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-3466)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a missing fix for #VU62796 (CVE-2022-27652) in previous release of the cri-o red hat package. A local user can escalate privileges on the system.
17) Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-3172)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform SSRF attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in kube-apiserver. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and trick the application to initiate requests to arbitrary systems.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker gain access to sensitive data, located in the local network or send malicious requests to other servers from the vulnerable system.
18) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-36567)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to manipulate information in the log files.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can inject arbitrary log lines.
19) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-48285)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied in the loadAsync() method. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted ZIP archive to the application and overwrite arbitrary files on the system.
20) Prototype pollution (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-24999)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
21) Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-25881)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to regular expression denial of service that occurs when the server reads the cache policy from the request using this library. A remote unauthenticated attacker can send malicious request header values to the server and perform a denial of service attack.
22) Incorrect Regular Expression (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-25927)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation passed via the trim() function. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform regular expression denial of service (ReDos) attack.
23) Incorrect Regular Expression (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37603)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation when processing URL within the interpolateName() function in interpolateName.js. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform regular expression denial of service (ReDos) attack.

25) Prototype pollution (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-46175)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the JSON5.parse() function. A remote attacker can inject and execute arbitrary script code.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
26) Type conversion (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-10735)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a type confusion in algorithms with quadratic time complexity when using non-binary bases within the int() call. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the affected application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
27) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-3162)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.
The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions. Users authorized to list or watch one type of namespaced custom resource cluster-wide can read custom resources of a different kind in the same API group they are not authorized to read.
28) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-4235)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources when parsing YAML files. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
29) Open redirect (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-28861)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to redirect victims to arbitrary URL.
The vulnerability exists due to improper sanitization of user-supplied data in lib/http/server.py due to missing protection against multiple (/) at the beginning of URI path. A remote attacker can create a link that leads to a trusted website, however, when clicked, redirects the victim to arbitrary domain.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to perform a phishing attack and steal potentially sensitive information.
30) Inconsistent interpretation of HTTP requests (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-1705)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform HTTP request smuggling attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of Transfer-Encoding headers in HTTP/1 responses. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP/1 response to the client and smuggle arbitrary HTTP headers.
Successful exploitation of vulnerability may allow an attacker to poison HTTP cache and perform phishing attacks.
31) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-2879)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to absent limits on the maximum size of file headers within the Reader.Read method in archive/tar. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted file to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
32) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-2880)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform parameter smuggling attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect handling of requests forwarded by ReverseProxy in net/http/httputil. A remote attacker can supply specially crafted parameters that cannot be parsed and are rejected by net/http and force the application to include these parameters into the forwarding request. As a result, a remote attacker can smuggle potentially dangerous HTTP parameters into the request.
33) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-2995)
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect handling of the supplementary groups. A local user can bypass implemented security restrictions, leading to sensitive information disclosure or possible data modification.
