Description
This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-22971)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within the Spring application with a STOMP over WebSocket endpoint. A remote user can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-23437)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop when parsing XML documents. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted XML document, consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.
3) Security restrictions bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-23181)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a time of check, time of use flaw when configured to persist sessions using the FileStore. A local user can perform certain actions which lead to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation (code execution with Tomcat process privileges).
4) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42003)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data when the UNWRAP_SINGLE_VALUE_ARRAYS feature is enabled. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
5) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41966)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a stack overflow error and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
6) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-33980)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
7) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42889)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to an insecure variable interpolation when processing untrusted input. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted input and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
