The vulnerability exists due to a race condition within the tcp_getsockopt() and tcp_setsockopt() functions in net/ipv4/tcp.c, do_ipv6_setsockopt() function in net/ipv6/ipv6_sockglue.c, and tcp_v6_connect() function in net/ipv6/tcp_ipv6.c in Linux kernel.
