Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-43680)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error caused by overeager destruction of a shared DTD in XML_ExternalEntityParserCreate. A remote attacker can trigger a use-after-free error and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


2) Cleartext transmission of sensitive information (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-23914)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform MitM attack.

The vulnerability exists due to state issues when handling multiple requests, which results in ignoring HSTS support. A remote attacker can perform MitM attack.

3) HTTP response splitting (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-25690)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform HTTP splitting attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to software does not correclty process CRLF character sequences in mod_rewrite and mod_proxy. A remote attacker can send specially crafted request containing CRLF sequence and make the application to send a split HTTP response.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker perform cache poisoning attack.
