Description
This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-38070)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error while parsing specially crafted WRL files. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-38071)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error while parsing specially crafted WRL files. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-38072)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error while parsing specially crafted WRL files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
4) Type Confusion (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-38073)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a type confusion error while parsing WRL files. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger a type confusion error and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Type Confusion (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-38074)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a type confusion error while parsing WRL files. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger a type confusion error and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
6) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-38075)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error while parsing specially crafted WRL files. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
7) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-38076)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error while parsing specially crafted WRL files. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
