Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-34462)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources if no idle timeout handler was configured. A remote attacker can send a client hello packet, which leads the server to buffer up to 16MB of data per connection and results in a denial of service condition.

2) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42004)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control usage of deeply nested arrays in BeanDeserializer._deserializeFromArray. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

3) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-45690)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Security Framework (JSON-java) component in Oracle WebCenter Portal. A remote non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

4) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-37714)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop when processing untrusted HTML and XML code. A remote attacker can consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.

5) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-39022)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Discussion Forums (OSCORE) component in Oracle WebCenter Portal. A remote non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code.

6) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42920)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input within the API. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted request to the affected application, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
