Description

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of inconsistent special elements error in the Junos Services Framework (jsf) module when handling malformed SSL traffic. A remote non-authenticated attacker can cause a crash in the Packet Forwarding Engine (pfe).

This issue only affects devices with Juniper Networks Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP) Cloud enabled with Encrypted Traffic Insights (configured via security-metadata-streaming policy).

Mitigation
