Security Bulletin
This security bulletin contains information about 6 vulnerabilities.
EUVDB-ID: #VU80793
Risk: Low
CVSSv3.1: 2.7 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]
CVE-ID: CVE-2023-41900
CWE-ID:
CWE-285 - Improper Authorization
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote user to bypass implemented security restrictions.
The vulnerability exists due to an error in the revocation process. If a Jetty OpenIdAuthenticator uses the optional nested LoginService, and that LoginService decides to revoke an already authenticated user, then the current request will still treat the user as authenticated.
Install update from vendor's website.
Vulnerable software versionsIBM Process Mining: before 1.14.2.0.1

Q & A
Can this vulnerability be exploited remotely?
Yes. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote authenticated user via the Internet.
Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?
No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.
EUVDB-ID: #VU80791
Risk: Medium
CVSSv3.1: 5.3 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]
CVE-ID: CVE-2023-40167
CWE-ID:
CWE-444 - Inconsistent Interpretation of HTTP Requests ('HTTP Request Smuggling')
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform HTTP request smuggling attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of HTTP requests when handling the "+" character passed via the HTTP/1 header field. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to the server and smuggle arbitrary HTTP headers.
Successful exploitation of vulnerability may allow an attacker to poison HTTP cache and perform phishing attacks.
MitigationInstall update from vendor's website.
Vulnerable software versionsIBM Process Mining: before 1.14.2.0.1

Q & A
Can this vulnerability be exploited remotely?
Yes. This vulnerability can be exploited by a remote non-authenticated attacker via the Internet.
Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?
No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.
EUVDB-ID: #VU82454
Risk: Medium
CVSSv3.1: 6.5 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]
CVE-ID: CVE-2023-43642
CWE-ID:
CWE-770 - Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to missing upper bound check on chunk length. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
MitigationInstall update from vendor's website.
Vulnerable software versionsIBM Process Mining: before 1.14.2.0.1

Is there known malware, which exploits this vulnerability?
No. We are not aware of malware exploiting this vulnerability.
EUVDB-ID: #VU81056
Risk: Low
CVSSv3.1: 3.7 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]
CVE-ID: CVE-2023-41040
CWE-ID:
CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when reading from the ".git" directory. A remote attacker can prepare a specially crafted ".git" file with directory traversal characters in file names and force the application to read these files from the local system. This can result in checking for existence of a specific files on the system or perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

EUVDB-ID: #VU80089
Risk: Medium
CVSSv3.1: 4.2 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:N/A:N/E:P/RL:O/RC:C]
CVE-ID: CVE-2023-41080
CWE-ID:
CWE-601 - URL Redirection to Untrusted Site ('Open Redirect')
Exploit availability: Yes
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote attacker to redirect victims to arbitrary URL.
The vulnerability exists due to improper sanitization of user-supplied data, if the ROOT (default) web application is configured to use FORM authentication. A remote attacker can create a link that leads to a trusted website, however, when clicked, redirects the victim to arbitrary domain.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to perform a phishing attack and steal potentially sensitive information.
MitigationInstall update from vendor's website.

EUVDB-ID: #VU80792
Risk: Medium
CVSSv3.1: 5.9 [CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N/E:U/RL:O/RC:C]
CVE-ID: CVE-2023-36479
CWE-ID:
CWE-20 - Improper input validation
Exploit availability: No
DescriptionThe vulnerability allows a remote user to compromise the affected system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in org.eclipse.jetty.servlets.CGI Servlet when quoting a command before its execution. A remote user can force the application to execute arbitrary file on the server and potentially compromise the system.
