Description

This security bulletin contains information about 13 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-24936)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in .NET, .NET Framework, and Visual Studio, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.

2) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-33135)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in .NET and Visual Studio. A remote user can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and gain elevated privileges on the system.

3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-33128)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in .NET and Visual Studio. A remote user can pass specially crafted input to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

4) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-33126)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in .NET and Visual Studio. A remote user can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

5) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-32032)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in .NET and Visual Studio, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.

6) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-29331)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in .NET, .NET Framework, and Visual Studio. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

7) Insecure DLL loading (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-28260)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to the application loads DLL libraries in an insecure manner. A remote attacker can place a specially crafted .dll file on a remote SMB fileshare, trick the victim into opening a file, associated with the vulnerable application, and execute arbitrary code on victim's system.

8) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-24897)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in .NET, .NET Framework, and Visual Studio. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

9) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-24895)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in .NET, .NET Framework, and Visual Studio. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

10) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-21808)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when parsing certain symbols. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

11) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41032)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in the NuGet Client, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.

12) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37434)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing a large gzip header within inflateGetHeader in inflate.c. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted file to the affected application, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

13) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-30184)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application in .NET and Visual Studio. A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
