Description

This security bulletin contains information about 11 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-40609)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.


2) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-0155)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application. A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.


3) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-0536)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application. A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.


4) Improper Restriction of Rendered UI Layers or Frames (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-46708)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted URL to hijack the victim's click actions and possibly launch further attacks against the victim.


5) UNIX symbolic link following (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-35887)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insecure symlink following that lead to files outside the RootedFileSystem. A remote user can identify presence of files on the system.


6) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-35024)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote user to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. The vulnerability allows users to embed arbitrary JavaScript code in the Web UI thus altering the intended functionality potentially leading to credentials disclosure within a trusted session.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


7) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-22006)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to manipulate data.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Networking component in Oracle GraalVM for JDK. A remote non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to manipulate data.


8) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-22036)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform service disruption.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Utility component in Oracle GraalVM for JDK. A remote non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to perform service disruption.


9) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-22041)

The vulnerability allows a local non-authenticated attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Hotspot component in Oracle GraalVM for JDK. A local non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to gain access to sensitive information.


10) Improper Neutralization of HTTP Headers for Scripting Syntax (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-29406)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform spoofing attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in HTTP/1 client when handling HTTP Host header. A remote non-authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request with a maliciously crafted Host header and inject additional headers or entire requests.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to perform cross-site scripting, cache poisoning or session hijacking attacks.


11) Incorrect default permissions (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-2976)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect default permissions in com.google.common.io.FileBackedOutputStream. A local user with access to the system can view contents of files and directories or modify them.
