Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-5097)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A local user can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system.


2) Link following (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-6335)

The vulnerability allows a local user to bypass security restrictions.

The vulnerability exists due to a link following issue within the Remediation Service. A local user can use a specially crafted symlink and control the file name.


3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-6334)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A local user can trigger memory corruption and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.


4) Link following (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-6336)

The vulnerability allows a local user to bypass security restrictions.

The vulnerability exists due to a link following issue within the Remediation Service. A local user can use a specially crafted symlink and control the file name.
