Description
This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-3094)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources when handling DNS updates. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion by sending a flood of dynamic DNS updates.
2) Reachable Assertion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-35205)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a reachable assertion within the display_debug_names() function. A remote attacker can trick the victim to pass specially crafted input to the application and crash it.
3) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-35206)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error. A local user can trigger denial of service conditions via function read_and_display_attr_value in file dwarf.c.
4) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-48468)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within parse_required_member() function. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-22745)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in "Tss2_RC_SetHandler" and "Tss2_RC_Decode". A remote attacker can trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
6) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-36049)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in .NET, .NET Framework and Visual Studio, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.
7) Security features bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-36558)
The vulnerability allows a local attacker to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to security features bypass in ASP.NET Core. A local attacker can bypass validations on Blazor Server forms and gain access to sensitive information.
