SB2024031410 - Multiple vulnerabilities in Palo Alto GlobalProtect Agent

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-2432)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition. A local user can exploit the race and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information and escalate privileges on the system.

2) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-2431)

The vulnerability allows a local user to disable the application.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions. A local non-privileged user can disable the GlobalProtect app in configurations that allow a user to disable GlobalProtect with a passcode.
