Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21912)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21913)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

3) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21918)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

4) Access of Uninitialized Pointer (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21919)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to use of uninitialized pointer. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

5) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-2929)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
