Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-4024)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions. A remote user with their Bitbucket account credentials can take over a GitLab account linked to another user's Bitbucket account, if Bitbucket is used as an OAuth 2.0 provider on GitLab.

2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-2434)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote user can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system, leading to denial of service (DoS) attack..

3) Incorrect Regular Expression (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-2829)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation in FileFinder when using wildcard filters in project file search. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform regular expression denial of service (ReDos) attack.

4) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-4006)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to the Personal Access Token scopes are not honoured by GraphQL subscriptions. A remote user can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.

5) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-1347)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions. A remote user can use a specially crafted email address and bypass domain based restrictions on an instance or a group.
