Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-34055)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in Web Observations. A remote attacker can send specially crafted HTTP requests to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability requires that application is using Spring MVC or Spring WebFlux and that org.springframework.boot:spring-boot-actuator is on the classpath.


2) Incorrect permission assignment for critical resource (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-34042)

The vulnerability allows a local user to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect permission assignment for spring-security.xsd. A local administrator can write arbitrary file on the system.


3) Use of insufficiently random values (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-5408)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected software uses a fixed null initialization vector with CBC Mode in the implementation of the queryable text encryptor. A remote authenticated attacker can derive the unencrypted values using a dictionary attack.
