Description
This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-29972)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the CGI program "remote_help-cgi". A remote unauthenticated attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-29973)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the "setCookie" parameter. A remote unauthenticated attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Arbitrary file upload (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-29974)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of file during file upload in the CGI program "file_upload-cgi". A remote attacker can upload a malicious file and execute it on the server.
4) Improper Privilege Management (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-29975)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges.
The vulnerability exists due to improper privilege management in the SUID executable binary. A local administrator can execute system commands as the "root" on the target device.
5) Improper Privilege Management (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-29976)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to improper privilege management in the command "show_allsessions". A remote user can obtain a logged-in administrator’s session information containing cookies on the target device.
