Description

This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41742)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information or perform a denial of service attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the ngx_http_mp4_module module when handling MP4 files. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted file to the server, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system or perform a denial of service attack.


2) Insufficient Session Expiration (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35206)

The vulnerability allows a local attacker to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient session expiration issue. A local attacker can get unauthorized access.


3) Cross-site request forgery (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35207)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the HTTP request origin. A remote attacker can trick the victim to visit a specially crafted web page and perform arbitrary actions on behalf of the victim on the vulnerable website.


4) Insufficiently protected credentials (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35208)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected web server stored the password in cleartext. A local user can obtain access passwords.


5) Exposed dangerous method or function (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35209)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the system.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected web server is allowing HTTP methods like PUT and Delete. A remote attacker can modify unauthorized files.


6) Cleartext transmission of sensitive information (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35210)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected web server is not enforcing HSTS. A remote attacker can perform downgrade attacks exposing confidential information.


7) Sensitive Cookie in HTTPS Session Without 'Secure' Attribute (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35211)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected application uses sensitive cookies without "Secure" attribute. A remote user can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.


8) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35212)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and gain access to the Database entries.
