Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41723)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources in the HPACK decoder. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP/2 stream to the application, cause resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-47013)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the emac_mac_tx_buf_send() function in drivers/net/ethernet/qualcomm/emac/emac-mac.c. A local user can escalate privileges on the system.

3) Processor optimization removal or modification of security-critical code (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-3006)

The vulnerability allow a local user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a known cache speculation vulnerability (Spectre-BHB) for the new hw AmpereOne. A local user can gain access to sensitive information.

4) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-52578)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a data race within the br_handle_frame_finish() function in net/bridge/br_input.c. A local user can exploit the race and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

5) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-25062)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in xmlValidatePopElement when using the XML Reader interface with DTD validation and XInclude expansion enabled. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted XML document to the application, trigger a use-after-free error and execute arbitrary code on the system.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
