Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35227)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within Onebox. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


2) Improper Authorization (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-36113)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to bypass authorization checks.

The vulnerability exists due to improper authorization in global search. A remote administrator can suspend other staff users preventing them from logging in to the site.


3) Stored cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35234)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within Facebook Oneboxes. A remote attacker can inject and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
